Jordan eVisa and Tourist Visa: How To Track Your Allowed Stay

Checked against Jordan Government Portal and Jordan Ministry of Interior sources on October 1, 2026.

Jordan visa records can be confusing because a traveler may need to track visa type, visa validity, the date the visa can be used, the stay granted at the border, and the actual entry and exit dates.

Short answer: keep Jordan eVisa or tourist visa records separate from your physical day count. The Jordan Government Portal identifies tourist visa, visa on arrival, and eVisa routes, and says tourist visas typically allow stays of one month or three months depending on the type and purpose of the visit. A Jordan Ministry of Interior notice also describes an eVisa policy change that affects how long an issued eVisa may be used before expiry.

What should you track for a Jordan trip?

Do not rely on a single "Jordan visa" note. Use separate fields:

RecordWhat it answers
Visa typeTourist visa, visa on arrival, eVisa, or another route
Visa validityWhen the visa can be used
Entry dateWhen you actually enter Jordan
Border-granted stayThe stay shown by official records for that trip
Exit dateWhen you actually leave Jordan

That structure makes it easier to see the difference between permission to travel, permission to enter, and the days you were physically in Jordan.

Tourist visa, visa on arrival, and eVisa are not the same record

The Jordan Government Portal lists tourist visa, visa on arrival, and eVisa categories.

It says a tourist visa is a single-entry route commonly used by visitors. It also says Jordan offers visa on arrival for citizens of several countries at major entry points, and an eVisa system that allows travelers to apply online before arrival.

For recordkeeping, save the route that applied to you:

  • eVisa application and approval record, if used
  • visa-on-arrival receipt or border record, if issued
  • passport used
  • flight or land-border route
  • accommodation or itinerary record
  • entry stamp or other border record
  • actual exit record

Those items may all matter later, but they do not all answer the same question.

How long can a Jordan tourist stay?

The Jordan Government Portal says tourist visas typically allow stays of one month or three months, depending on visa type and purpose.

That is not the same as saying every visitor gets three months. Your stay depends on the route, nationality, visa category, border decision, and the record issued for your trip.

Use the official stay shown for your own visa or border process, then track:

FieldWhy it matters
Entry dateStarts the physical presence timeline
Stay shownDetermines the date you should review
Exit reminderHelps you leave margin before expiry
Exit dateCloses the country-day record

If the official record for your trip differs from a general web page, preserve the official record for your trip and get qualified advice.

What changed in Jordan's eVisa use window?

A Jordan Ministry of Interior notice says eVisas are no longer limited to use only within the first two months after issuance. The notice says they may be used from issuance until expiry.

For travelers, that means the expiry printed or shown on the eVisa matters. It does not remove the need to track the stay granted when you enter Jordan.

Keep both:

  • eVisa validity or expiry date
  • actual entry date
  • stay granted for that entry
  • actual exit date

Do not use the visa validity period as a substitute for the stay allowed after entry.

How should multiple-entry Jordan eVisas be tracked?

The Jordan Ministry of Interior notice lists multiple-entry visa categories for longer validity periods. It says visas valid for six months or more can allow multiple visits during the visa validity period, and that each trip is granted three months at the border.

Because that source is an Arabic Ministry of Interior notice, the translation and current wording should be checked again before relying on it for publication or travel planning.

For your own records, keep each entry as a separate trip:

Multi-entry visa fileIndividual trip file
Visa categoryEntry date
Visa validityBorder-granted stay
Passport usedExit-by reminder
Official source checkedExit date

A multiple-entry visa record should not become one continuous Jordan stay record unless official documents for your case say that is how your stay works.

What documents should eVisa applicants check?

The Jordan Government Portal lists eVisa application steps and documents including a passport, passport-sized photo, flight itinerary, and hotel reservation details. The same page says the passport should have a minimum validity of six months.

Keep those documents under the trip they belong to. If you travel often, the same passport may be attached to several trips, but each Jordan entry and exit should still have its own record.

What about the Jordan Pass?

This guide does not rely on Jordan Pass claims because the research packet did not approve a current Jordan Pass source for detailed stay rules.

If you use the Jordan Pass, keep it as a separate travel product record. Do not treat it as a substitute for checking visa type, border-granted stay, or official entry and exit dates.
