How do I remove a duplicate trip?
Confirm that the records describe the same stay, then delete the duplicate in Timeline. Do not delete legitimate same-country visits that happen on different dates.
Last updated:
What to do
- Place the two records side by side and confirm they duplicate one stay.
- Keep the entry with the best notes and supporting documents.
- Delete the duplicate and recheck affected totals.
Why this matters
Duplicates can double-count presence and distort every tracker using that country. Compare country, start date, end date, notes, and attachments before removing a record.
The trip record should describe what happened. The tracker then applies its configured calculation. Keep documents for disputed boundary dates and avoid changing accurate history only to produce a preferred result.
Check the rule behind the answer
Jurisdictions do not all define a presence day in the same way. Read How to Track Days Across Countries for the rule context and cited sources used by this answer. Official guidance and advice for your facts take priority over an app display.
Before you rely on the total
- Check the country, entry date, departure date, and local time where relevant.
- Resolve duplicate, missing, overlapping, or unreviewed GPS-assisted records.
- Confirm the tracker period, countries, threshold, and tracking direction.
- Export a fresh record after any correction that changes a previously shared total.
When to ask a professional
Ask a qualified tax or immigration professional when a count is close to a legal threshold, an exception may apply, records conflict, or a late correction could affect a filing, permit, or overstay. Jetseen organizes dates and calculations. It does not decide your legal status.
